Intel intends to apply AMD’s FSR to Xe-HPG architecture GPUs

At the Computex 2021, AMD officially launched FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) super-resolution technology. Scott Herkelman, the global vice president of Radeon’s game product department, made a relevant introduction and confirmed that this technology will be released on June 22 and will provide more relevant information on the same day.
FidelityFX Super Resolution super-resolution technology is not only suitable for the latest GPU, but also for GPUs based on the old architecture, AMD even used GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card for demonstration. As a cross-platform technology supported by DirectX12, DirectX11, and Vulkan API, people have already seen the possibility. As of now, competitor Nvidia has not commented on AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology.

Raja Koduri, Intel senior vice president, chief architect, and general manager of the architecture, graphics, and software division, expressed interest in FidelityFX Super Resolution technology on his Twitter account, in the future, Intel may try to use this technology in the upcoming Xe-HPG architecture GPU.

At the same time, Raja Koduri also showed a picture of the GPU labeled DG2-512, which should be the highest specification model in the DG2 series. He said that in the past few weeks, the work in the laboratory has been very effective and confirmed that he will continue to optimize the GPUs.
