Intel Core i9-12900KS power consumption increased to 150W, Price will be over $750

Intel has already said at CES 2022 that it will release the KS version of the 12th-generation Core, and the highest boost clock will reach 5.5GHz, they must be Core i9-12900KS. This processor is designed for high-end enthusiasts and overclockers. Although there has been no news of this processor since then, Intel is already preparing to bring this processor to the market.

Twitter user @momomo_us recently found a little intel about the Core i9-12900KS. Its basic power consumption has increased from 125W of Core i9-12900K to 150W, and the maximum boost clock power consumption is not known. The P-Core’s boost clock can reach 5.5GHz. The E-Core clock is estimated to have not changed, the base clock is 3.9GHz. Other specifications are the same as the Core i9-12900K, also 8 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, with 30MB L3 cache.

In terms of the selling price, its current preliminary price on ShopBLT is $780 for loose pieces and $790 for boxes. The final official suggested retail price will be over $750. It is about $150 higher than the Core i9-12900K. This price is high enough, and only hardcore players will pay for it.
