Intel Core i9-12900KS may be available on March 3
Intel has confirmed at the CES 2022 show at the beginning of the year that it will launch the Core i9-12900KS, which is a product designed for high-end enthusiasts and overclocking enthusiasts.
Core i9-12900KS continues the basic framework of Core i9-12900K. It is also equipped with 8 Performance Core based on the Golden Cove architecture and 8 Efficient Core based on the Gracemont architecture, with 16 cores and 24 threads, it is configured with 30MB of L3 cache and 14MB of L2 cache. Twitter user @momomo_us has previously revealed that its PL1 will be increased from 125W to 150W, and PL2 will be increased from 241W to 260W. In addition, the base clock of the P-Core is 3.4 GHz, the boost clock can reach 5.5 GHz. The frequency of E-Core is estimated not to be adjusted, the boost clock is 3.9GHz, and the base clock is 3.7GHz.
To reach a higher clock, Intel uses the exclusive Enhanced Thermal Velocity Boost (ETVB) technology on the Core i9-12900KS, however, no specific details were disclosed, and it is likely to increase the core voltage of the Core i9-12900KS. Previously, ASRock provided a new Beta BIOS for a considerable number of 600 series motherboards, and the content description inside has confirmed this new technology from Intel.
There are currently two associated listings visible through ShopBLT, showing a scatter price of $780.79 and a boxed price of $791.74. The Core i9-12900K is priced at $628.05 at the same retailer, which compares to 26% more for the Core i9-12900KS. According to the information displayed on two pages of the retailer, Core i9-12900K is expected to arrive in three weeks, and Core i9-12900KS is due to ship on March 3, which means that the official release time is not far away.
