Intel confirms the release date of Xeon W-3400/2400 series processors

Intel has previously confirmed that the Sapphire Rapids HEDT/workstation processor and the corresponding Fishhawk Falls platform will be released on February 15 this year, and will bring Xeon W-3400 series and Xeon W-2400 series processors and W790 chipset.

Today Intel announced the specific release time, which is the same as the previously leaked news, at 9 am on February 15, 2023, Pacific Standard Time.

According to previous reports, the time to market for the Intel Xeon W-3400 series and Xeon W-2400 series processors is also different. Intel Xeon W-2400 series processors and W790 motherboards will be available for pre-sale from March 8th to 22nd, 2023. The pre-sale period for the Intel Xeon W-3400 series processors is from April 12 to 26, 2023.

It is understood that the official name of the new platform is “Expert 1S Workstation“, using the LGA-4677 socket. The Xeon W-3400 series is equipped with up to 56 cores, supports up to 112 PCIe channels and eight-channel DDR5-4400/4800 memory, and supports up to 4TB of memory. The Xeon W-2400 series is equipped with up to 24 cores, supports up to 64 PCIe channels and four-channel DDR5-4400/4800 memory, and supports up to 2TB of memory. In addition, the models with the “X” suffix support overclocking, which can be understood as the successor of the Core-X model.
