Intel Arc Pro A50/A40 workstation graphics card appeared in the SiSoftware
Recently, Intel finally launched the Intel Arc brand Alchemist (DG2) desktop discrete graphics card, the first of which is the Arc A380, and more models will be introduced to the market later. Intel has previously said that in addition to game graphics cards for gamers, it will also launch a workstation version in the third quarter of 2022.
There have been growing signs recently that Intel is accelerating the development of workstation GPUs. A few days ago, the Arc Pro A40 appeared on the website of the National Radio Research Agency (RRA) in Korea, and it can be basically confirmed that it is an Alchemist desktop workstation graphics card, which is a relatively low-end model. Now that the Intel Arc Pro A50 has appeared in the SiSoftware database, it is speculated that the specifications of the Arc Pro A50 and Arc Pro A40 should be relatively close.
The Intel Arc Pro A50 is likely to use a full ACM-G11 chip with 8 Xe cores (128 execution units / 1024 FP32 cores), while the Arc Pro A40 is a downsized version of the Arc Pro A50. Both Arc Pro A50 and Arc Pro A40 use 6GB of GDDR6 video memory with a bit width of 96 bits, which is generally similar to Arc A380.
Intel is currently pushing models with ACM-G11 chips to more market segments, while models with ACM-G10 chips seem to be delayed. With AMD and Nvidia launching new generations of GPUs in the coming months, Intel may have to pick up the pace.
