Recently, Lisa Pearce, Vice President and General Manager for the Visual Compute Group published a blog post answering some of the most popular questions collected in recent weeks from customers, the media, and the development community.
Lisa Pearce reiterated that the ARC graphics card supports variable refresh rate (VRR) and Resizable BAR, and mentioned that Intel has
advised its motherboard partners to turn on the Resizable BAR function by default in the future, and will continue to provide support in future chipsets. In addition to the graphics card supply problem, the main problem faced by ARC graphics cards is that the driver is not mature. From installation to control center to game optimization and compatibility, it is difficult to be satisfied in all aspects.
For driver issues, Lisa Pearce said that she has received feedback from the media recently, and has fixed many bugs in the latest version, including UI issues, game compatibility, and performance optimization. “Some of the issues were related to our installer and how it downloaded unique components after initial installation. This allows us to have a smaller initial download to get users started quicker. But unexpected failures are causing that process to be unreliable, and later this year we will be moving to a combined package that is downloaded and installed all at once. No more installer issues.”
