India will set up a Defence Cyber Agency in May
In order to improve India’s ability to deal with hacker threats, India will set up Defence Cyber Agency (DCA) in May, based in the capital New Delhi. Senior Navy officer Rear Admiral Mohit Gupta will become the first ambassador of DCA.
According to sources, DCA will work with the military to address cyber threats and will include elements of DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization). Although DCA is ready to headquartered in New Delhi, its structure will still take some time as the structure of the institution is still under discussion.
A senior military officer said that the network’s troops will be spread all over the country. Each branch will have a dedicated unit or team to deal with network security issues. According to defense sources, hackers are trying to crack the Indian military system almost every day, and India is currently conducting network exercises for key military infrastructure.
