HP has announced the launch of its new 738pu monitor, meticulously optimized for productivity, priced at $1,249. For users seeking a distinctive monitor, HP’s latest offering might be the next productivity-enhancing display.

The HP 738pu monitor features a 37.5-inch curved screen with IPS Black technology, providing 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles. It boasts a 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC), a 24:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 3840 x 1600, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 5ms GtG response time, a peak brightness of 400 nits, a contrast ratio of 2000:1, and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The monitor is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified.

Users can connect via a single USB-C cable, utilizing a Thunderbolt 4 port (40Gbps) that supports DP mode and 100W PD power delivery. The daisy-chain functionality (providing 15W charging) allows for simple expansion to a second screen. Additionally, the monitor includes a DisplayPort 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB Type-C port (supporting DP mode, 65W PD power delivery, 10Gbps), a gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB hub feature that provides five USB Type-A ports (7.5W charging, 10Gbps) and one USB Type-C port (15W charging, 10Gbps). The monitor is also equipped with four speakers supporting DTS Virtual:X technology.

Furthermore, the monitor offers KVM and PIP/PBP functionality, and the stand supports height adjustment, horizontal rotation, and tilt. It is also compatible with 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts for convenient stand replacement. Strangely, the monitor does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, nor does it have a built-in camera or microphone.
