Previously, Microsoft tested the new app picker in the Windows 11 development version. But then I don’t know why the function was withdrawn and there is no news. However, in Windows 11 Dev Build 25151 released yesterday, the new app picker has returned and has been provided to some users through A/B testing. Windows 11 Build 25151 contains one new feature – a new open dialog. The “Open with” dialog appears when you right-click on any file and try to open it using a particular app.
Users who have not been selected by Microsoft for testing should not worry. Because we can use ViveTool to enable this feature, so choosing to open the app will see the new version.
You need to download the vivetool. By running “vivetool addconfig 36302090 2”, you can enable the new app picker.
