Google Stadia opens up players for up to 120 minutes of trial

According to Google’s announcement, more than 100 games including “Control”, “Sniper Elite 4” and “Strange Brigade” will be available on the Stadia service. The length of the trial playtime will be determined by the game developers and publishers. Currently, there are 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or up to 120 minutes.
In addition, Google also allows developers or publishers to set games to complete certain tasks and achievements before ending the trial, thereby attracting more people to join the Stadia service.
Although the whole trial is still relatively limited, by extending the trial time, Google expects to attract more people to experience and fully understand whether the game is suitable for them to play. At the same time, it will also allow more players to experience the convenience of cloud streaming through Stadia.
Arden Aspinal, head of the Rebellion North game studio that made “Sniper Elite 4”, said that allowing players to fully experience the game content for a long time will make players more willing to play the game, and it is also planned that a future game experience mode will allow players to directly play certain episodes instead of starting the experience from scratch.
Stadia senior product manager Karan Arora said that the idea for this new type of trial came from the fact that developers create “meaningful achievements which illustrate what playing their games is all about.” Arora compared this new trial method to the experience of a new city, saying that the experience is better when you have guidance from friends or tour guides, rather than just exploring on your own in a limited time.
