Google is about to release a new generation of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, and it is said that all details will be announced at a subsequent event. This time, unlike the past, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will use Google’s self-developed Tensor SoC, focusing on performance improvements in AI.
It is said that Tensor SoC uses two Cortex-X1 super cores with a frequency of 2.8 GHz, two Cortex-A78 performance cores with a frequency of 2.42 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with a frequency of 2.8 GHz, with Mali G78 GPU. At the same time, it will be equipped with a TPU for AI computing, and will also integrate a Titan M security chip, manufactured with Samsung’s 5nm process. Google said that in internal benchmark tests, Tensor SoC can provide 80% performance improvement, so the application load speed will be faster, the game response will be faster, and it can save power and have longer battery life.
Recently, Twitter user @EvanLei1 exposed the starting prices of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which are $599 and $898 respectively, and the corresponding storage space is 128GB. If the price is correct, it means that Pixel 6 is cheaper than last year’s Pixel 5, which started at $699 at the time, which is also lower than previously generally predicted.
Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 are basically the same in configuration. Pixel 6 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch 120Hz QHD+ OLED digging screen, and Pixel 6 is a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a refresh rate of only 90Hz and a direct screen. Both products have built-in under-screen fingerprint technology. It is understood that Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 will be released on October 19 this year, but they will not be available until the end of the year.
It is rumored that Google has high expectations for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Such pricing also makes these two models attractive. Among them, Pixel 6 Pro will compete with the flagship models of Apple, Samsung, and other manufacturers.
