Google has banned Xiaomi access to Assistant

The Xiaomi Mijia camera is currently found by users to have serious faults and safety issues, because the real-time monitoring screen may be seen by other users at any time. According to feedback from Reddit netizens, when the Mijia camera logs in to a Google account and connects with Google Nest Hub, it is possible to randomly display other monitoring screens to the user.

Each time a user clicks on the real-time monitor, the screens are different. The netizen has repeatedly tested and found that some of them are in public or family bedroom scenes. To reproduce the problem, you only need to bind the Mijia camera to the Google account through the Mijia application. Originally, this function was for users to watch and monitor using Nest Hub.

When trying to access the surveillance video from Xiaomi Mi’s camera, he did not see the surveillance video stream captured by the camera, but instead showed static pictures from other rooms in the house. The eight still photos uploaded to the Reddit community included sleeping babies, closed porches, and pictures of men sleeping on chairs.

At present, Xiaomi Mijia has not responded to this question from the user, but the user has confirmed the existence of the problem after feedback to Google. After investigation, Google found that this problem was mainly due to a configuration error on the Xiaomi server-side, which resulted in a distorted picture after integrating Google services.

At present, Google has directly disabled the Xiaomi Mijia camera and its related services from connecting to Google. At the same time, Google also said that it has contacted Xiaomi to handle this issue. After the service is disabled, the Mijia camera can no longer use commands such as Google Assistant to operate, and can no longer use devices such as Google Nest Hub to associate with it.
