In September last year, Google announced that the “tab groups” function developed over 19 months was officially launched, and this function immediately became one of Chrome’s most successful UI innovations. Now, Google is developing new features related to “tab groups.”
The first function is to save the name and organization of the closed tabs, allowing users to easily find and reopen the previously closed single and entire tab groups. This feature is available for Chrome Canary users.
According to Chromium Gerrit, another new feature allows users to save tab groups when bookmarking tabs. When the user opens one or more tab groups and selects “Bookmark All Tabs”, they will see all the nested folders of the tab groups, named consistent with the tab group title, instead of getting a flat list of tabs. The order of nested folders will be the same as the order of tabs. If multiple tab groups share the same title, their tabs will be merged into a folder in the index of the first group.
As you can see, these two functions are very practical. After its official launch, the “tab groups” group function will be more powerful and convenient.
