Google Chrome will help the user from abusive notifications
Google Chrome has previously been well-received for the announcement system launched by the website, and the website can use the system to push messages to users such as website update notifications.
However, after the launch, many spam websites began to use the notification system to publish various advertising information, and even some websites will push phishing websites to try to steal information.
More is the practice that affects the user experience, use the pop-up layer to induce the user to agree to send a notification, if not allowed to read the content of the website.
In response to this situation, Google Chrome has introduced a quiet notification option in the previous version of the update. By default, all website notifications are blocked but users can manually enable them.
At present, Google Chrome has published new articles in the official blog to announce the new policy. It is expected that Google Chrome 84 will be released on July 14.
In this version, Google will enable the detection protection of the abuse notification system. If the abuse notification system is detected, Google will send an email to the website to notify.
If the abuse is not improved or stopped within the specified time, Google Chrome will treat such sites as malicious and block them in the browser.
The abuse of notifications includes misleading, deceiving, or forcing users to accept notifications, such as claiming that users must allow notifications before they can access the content of the website.
