Google and Apple have removed 59 Chinese apps in India from their app stores

Earlier, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India announced the ban on 59 applications from Chinese developers, including Douyin, Tencent, Alibaba, and many other popular applications.

The reason given by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India is that these applications endanger the national security of India, so these applications are completely blocked according to local regulations.

It was originally speculated that the Indian government may send a letter asking Google and Apple to remove these applications from the app store, but initially, the Indian government did not use this method.

In fact, the method adopted by the Indian government is very thorough, it directly requires Indian ISP network operators to block these application connections from the Indian Internet backbone network.

After being blocked, these applications can no longer connect to the Internet and therefore cannot be used by users unless the user uses a proxy server to bypass the block filtering of Indian network operators.

Somewhat surprisingly, while the Indian government blocked the connection through the network operator, it was actually asking to get Google and Apple to remove these apps from their app store.

At present, Apple and Google have already removed these applications from the App Store and Google Play as required by the Indian government. Current users are no longer able to search these apps and install them in the App Store and Google Play in India.

In response, a Google spokesperson said the company evaluated the temporary orders sent by the Indian government and has temporarily blocked users from accessing these apps on Google Play. Apple has not yet responded to this announcement.
