Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti AORUS WaterForce series is coming
Despite the relatively modest heat generation of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, several manufacturers have nonetheless elected to offer versions equipped with liquid cooling, such as the Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Neptune OC, which employs a 240mm radiator. According to reports from VideoCardz, Gigabyte is set to join the roster with the forthcoming release of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AORUS WaterForce Xtreme and GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AORUS WaterForce Xtreme WB models.
Each variant features unique cooling designs, with the WB suffix indicating preinstalled fittings for water-cooling tubes, as opposed to an integrated water-cooling system. Purchasers of this graphics card will need to prepare relevant accessories for installation, which could escalate assembly costs. Nevertheless, it seems likely that the majority of prospective owners would have accounted for this in advance.
Naturally, these two are not the first AORUS WaterForce graphics cards based on the GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs, as Gigabyte has already unveiled GeForce 4080/4090 models. Interestingly, each card in the same series has slight design differences; for instance, the new model featuring the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is equipped with a smaller cooler, and the all-in-one water-cooling version has transitioned from a 360mm radiator to a 240mm one, offering improved compatibility in assembly.
The AORUS WaterForce graphics cards utilizing the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti series GPU bear considerable resemblance to the prior generation GeForce RTX 30 series products. The cooler casing is almost identical to the GeForce RTX 3080 series models, yet there are notable modifications to the PCB design, along with the provision of a standard display output configuration. Gigabyte had offered enhanced display connections on its previous model, including additional HDMI/DisplayPort interfaces for VR headsets.
Gigabyte has yet to disclose the pricing and specifications of these new graphics cards, along with their precise release dates.
