Gigabyte is preparing a new AORUS Gaming Box
In the past few years, GIGABYTE has successively launched a variety of AORUS Gaming Boxes, ranging from GeForce GTX 1070 to RTX 3080 Ti, bringing external graphics card docks to upgrade graphics performance for users of ultrabooks and other devices.
According to VideoCardz reports, Gigabyte is preparing a new AORUS Gaming Box, which will be equipped with Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card and equipped with a water cooling module. Although GIGABYTE has launched the WaterForce RTX 4090 with an all-in-one water cooling solution, it does not directly move it into the AORUS Gaming Box.
It is understood that the RTX 4090 AORUS Gaming Box adopts a custom design with a complete liquid cooling heat dissipation circulation system and a built-in power supply, mainly for notebook computers and mini hosts. In theory, only three cables are needed to work properly: the power cable, the display cable (either DisplayPort or HDMI), and of course the Thunderbolt cable itself. It is not yet clear whether the RTX 4090 AORUS Gaming Box supports Thunderbolt 4. Since Thunderbolt 3 also provides a maximum bandwidth of 40 Gbps, it will not have much impact on performance.
The RTX 4090 AORUS Gaming Box provides four display outputs, like a general graphics card, three DisplayPort ports, and one HDMI port. In addition to improving graphics performance, it also provides additional interfaces, including a USB Type-C port on the front, two USB 3.0 ports on the rear, and an Ethernet port. Compared with the previous generation, there is one less HDMI port, and the front USB port has been changed from Type-A to Type-C.
At present, GIGABYTE has not announced this product on the official website, and some specifications are yet to be confirmed.
