GeForce 470.05 driver removes the mining limit set by NVIDIA for RTX 3060 ETH
We previously reported that NVIDIA announced that it will launch CMP HX series mining processors specifically for cryptocurrency mining in order to meet the surge in mining demand. Unlike the game graphics cards currently used in cryptocurrency mining, the CMP HX series mining processors do not have the video output function and can only be used for mining.
Nvidia also announced in a press release that the RTX 3060, which was not yet available at the time, will be equipped with a mining restriction program. Once the graphics card detects that it is mining, it will immediately reduce the hash rate to half of the original power.
Later, netizens got the sneaked RTX 3060 graphics card to actually measure mining efficiency. Nvidia also added that the RTX 3060 mining limit program is limited by the graphics core, BIOS, and driver, so it can hardly be bypassed.
However, the latest news just now proves that Nvidia’s multiple handshakes to achieve limit mining is not true. The media found that it is not difficult to bypass the mining limit of RTX 3060.
The media confirmed that as long as users use the GeForce 470.05 driver that Nvidia pushes to developers through the Windows Insider Program, they can directly lift the mining restrictions set by Nvidia.
Two other media also confirmed the news. Now only need to install this driver to realize mining at the hash rate of the graphics card itself, instead of being restricted to half the speed.
In short, although this will not have a negative impact on the sales of NVIDIA products, it simply affects gamers. It is estimated that this graphics card fever will continue for a long, long time.
