Framework Laptop 16 Opens Preorders
Framework is renowned as a manufacturer specializing in the production of modular laptops, their illustrious product, the Framework Laptop 13, empowers the users to independently replace core components including the motherboard, I/O interfaces, and batteries, amongst others. Recently, Framework heralded the launch of the new Framework Laptop 16, the primary allure of which is its robust performance. Presently, the new Framework Laptop 16 is open for preorders. The starting price for the DIY version stands at $1399, while the version preinstalled with the Windows operating system commences at $1699. The maiden batch of products is slated for dispatch in the fourth quarter of 2023, with coverage extending to regions including the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, and Australia.
Under the default configuration, the Framework Laptop 16 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS. Upgrading to Ryzen 9 7940HS can be accomplished with an additional investment of $200. Incorporating 16GB memory comes with a tag of $80; meanwhile, the inclusion of Western Digital WD_BLACK SN770 1TB SSD is priced at $99. An optional Radeon RX 7700S discrete graphics card is also available, costing $400.
This particular laptop employs a semi-custom screen from BOE, featuring a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a refresh rate of 165Hz, a brightness of 500 nits, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and a DCI-P3 color gamut of 100%. Users are given the liberty to opt for a replacement. Given the Framework Laptop 16’s customizable I/O module potential of up to six, it introduces a higher degree of versatility for the users, allowing them to freely and flexibly combine options among USB Type-A/C, MicroSD card reader, RJ45 network port, HDMI, and DP.
