Facebook removed Facebook UWP app for Windows 10
The decline of the Microsoft Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is an indisputable fact, and more and more developers are abandoning the platform and removing related applications from Microsoft Store.
Even LinkedIn, a social networking site owned by Microsoft, has withdrawn its UWP client, and other developers are certainly not willing to continue to support it.
Recently, the global social network giant Facebook has announced the withdrawal of the Facebook UWP version of the client, and users will no longer be able to download the client through the Microsoft Store.
According to Facebook, users who have already installed can continue to use the Facebook UWP app, but when using this app on Windows 10, a prompt will pop up to guide users to use the web version.
Facebook did not disclose the reason for disabling the client. Of course, everyone knows that the reason is that there are too few users, so Facebook does not need to spend money to maintain it.
This is the same as the starting point of other developers. Maintenance of such clients requires the development and replacement of engineers. If the number of users is too small, it will naturally cost money.
So more and more developers are discontinuing the Windows 10 UWP version, including all kinds of an active banking app, social networking, media player and tool software.
