F5 acquires NGINX with a total enterprise value of approximately $670 million

On the 11th, F5 and NGINX announced a definitive agreement under which F5 will acquire all issued shares of NGINX for a total value of approximately US$670 million.

F5 is a global leader in the Application Delivery Network (ADN), a solution that helps integrate different technologies to better control the infrastructure, improve application delivery and data management capabilities, and enable users to pass enterprise desktop systems and Smart devices are seamless, secure, and faster to access applications.

Nginx is one of the most popular web servers on the Internet. NGINX provides a complete set of technologies for developing and delivering modern applications, and it is also an open source leader in application delivery.

The acquisition statement states that this strategic acquisition and organic investment will ensure long-term revenue and earnings per share growth; F5 and NGINX will deliver cloudy application services in all environments, providing developers with the ease of use and flexibility they need while still provide the scale, security, and reliability required by the network operations team.

In addition, F5 will focus on continuous innovation and increase investment in NGINX open source projects to enhance NGINX’s broad user base. F5 will enhance NGIX’s current offerings with F5 security solutions and integrate F5 Cloud Native Innovation with NGINX’s software load balancing technology to accelerate time-to-market for F5’s application services for modern containerized applications. F5 will also leverage its global sales force, channel infrastructure and partner ecosystem to expand NGINX’s opportunities to sell to businesses.
