Europol announces successful destruction of Internet channels of the terrorist organization ISIS
Europol said in a recently released press release that it has joined forces with multiple law enforcement agencies and software developers to combat the terrorist channel of the Islamic State Internet channel. According to the press release, ISIS’s Internet channels on multiple platforms across the entire network are currently closed, at least the current Islamic State has been completely offline on the Internet platform. However, these channels may be rebuilt soon, so law enforcement agencies will continue to crack down, and law enforcement agencies are joining more platforms to maintain high pressure on ISIS.
The main communication platform for ISIS is Telegram, which attracts many users with excellent encryption features. However, Europol worked directly with Telegram to detect a large number of groups and channels used by ISIS, and then closed them all. Law enforcement agencies are also grateful for the technical support provided by the encryption platform in the press release. It is very difficult to detect these channels without the support of developers.
At the same time, the Islamic State’s propaganda positions and communication tools also include Facebook, which also has active tracks on Twitter and some Google platforms. Europol stated that it has cooperated with these platform operators or developers, and subsequent monitoring of Islamic State activities will immediately block its account directly.
