Epic Games will collaborate with LEGO for a blocky all-ages Metaverse project

Many people may have heard of the metaverse, but most of them may not be able to explain clearly what the so-called metaverse is all about. Of course, there are manufacturers who will plan ahead for the future, even if there is still a long way to go before the metaverse era.

Like it or not, the Metaverse is getting closer and closer to us. Recently, wccftech reported that game developer Epic Games will cooperate with LEGO to create a virtual world for children. Neither party has announced specific details of cooperation for the time being, but three principles have been identified, including:

  1. Ensuring that the digital spaces that are developed are safe and that the safety and well-being of children will be the priority;
  2. Protect the privacy of children;
  3. Equip children with the necessary tools to create their own digital experiences.
Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, said:

The Lego Group has captivated the imagination of children and adults through creative play for nearly a century, and we are excited to come together to build a space in the metaverse that’s fun, entertaining, and made for kids and families.

Interestingly, the cooperation between Epic Games and Lego is not the responsibility of past partner TT Games (such as the production of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga). This may indicate that the new project will be very different from the projects that TT Games has participated in in the past.
