The Epic Games Store continues to grow in 2021

Recently, Epic Games published its 2021 review, which released a number of data. The Epic Games Store will have more than 194 million users in 2021, an increase of 34 million compared to 2020. Daily active users peaked at 31.1 million, concurrent users peaked at 13.2 million, and December peaked at 62 million, an 11% increase from 56 million in 2020.

The Epic Games Store currently sells 917 games, almost double the number in 2020. In 2021, Epic Games Store sales revenue will be approximately $840 million, a 20% increase from 2020. Among them, third-party games accounted for 36% of total sales, and players spent more than $300 million, an increase of 12% compared to 2020.

Epic Games said it will continue to give away games for free every week. Over the past year, through partnerships with game developers and publishers, the Epic Games Store has given away 89 games worth $2,120 (average price $23.82), more than 765 million free games were claimed by players, meaning the total amount given away reached approximately $18 billion.

Among them, 76 free-to-play games broke the record for the highest concurrent users on the PC side, an average of three times the historical record. The previous 2021 holiday sale saw more than 31 million users participate and purchased more than 159 million items, a 14% increase over the 2020 holiday sale. However, compared with the total amount of games given away, the game sales revenue in 2021 is much lower, and it is obvious that the Epic Games Store needs to continue to work hard.
