Elon Musk confirms he’s working on an artificial intelligence system called TruthGPT
Recently, it was reported that Twitter has been procuring a substantial number of GPUs for training artificial intelligence, while rumors also circulated about Elon Musk’s plans to create an AI system. Musk confirmed these developments during an interview with Fox News in the United States, revealing that this AI system will be dubbed “TruthGPT.”
Elon Musk stated that the primary objective of “TruthGPT” is to exhaustively understand the essence of the universe. He emphasized that if AI can further comprehend the cosmos, it is less likely to eradicate humanity, as humans are arguably the most intriguing aspect of the universe.
Such statements evidently resonate with the developmental goals of Musk’s SpaceX. Recently, the company has been conducting test flights for the large-scale Starship rocket; however, due to certain factors, the mission has been delayed, requiring a 48-hour wait before the next launch attempt.
On the other hand, the name “TruthGPT” appears to underscore the AI system’s pursuit of truth. In previous interviews, Musk has expressed his belief that AI should place greater emphasis on providing accurate information.
According to earlier reports, an AI technology company called X.AI Corp has been registered in Nevada, United States. Elon Musk is the sole board member, while Jared Birchall, Managing Director of a family office wealth management advisory firm, serves as secretary.
