EA will cancel its EA Play Live event this year

EA has determined that it will not hold an EA Play Live event this year and said it will choose a date to announce the next new games and content at an appropriate time. EA Play Live has been held since 2016. For a long time, EA will hold EA Play Live at the same time as the E3 game show to announce various new games, and provide players with the opportunity to try them first. EA Play Live has also moved from a physical exhibition to an online event since the 2020 COVID-19 global pandemic, and this year is the first time EA has completely canceled EA Play Live.

In a statement to IGN, EA says:

We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you. However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!
