E3 2022 exhibition will be cancelled
The Electronic Software Association (ESA), the organizer of the annual game exhibition E3, recently announced that it will cancel the 2022 E3 exhibition. The physical exhibition of E3 was canceled as early as 2020 after the COVID-19 epidemic began, but this year is the first time that the online exhibition has also been canceled.
E3 has been one of the most important events in the gaming world since ESA first hosted it in 1995. But since the pandemic began, E3, like many other exhibitions, has needed to change its format. Last year E3 held its first online form of exhibition. However, ESA decided that the online form of the E3 2022 exhibition will also be canceled.
As for next year’s E3 exhibition, ESA is expected to return to Los Angeles for a physical exhibition, but players can also watch it online at the same time.
E3 exhibitions have traditionally been linked or co-broadcasted with channels such as Twitch and Youtube. Therefore, after the E3 online exhibitions are canceled, players should feel more or less as if something is missing.
