DuckDuckGo blocks pirate websites in search results
DuckDuckGo is a search engine that focuses on privacy protection. The search engine claims not to track users’ search records, nor to use relevant data to push advertisements.
Recently, TorrentFreak, a torrent tracking website, found that DuckDuckGo seems to be actively blocking many pirate websites, such as The Pirate Bay, 1337x, and Fmovies, which have disappeared from DuckDuckGo’s search results. Even more funny is that even the YouTube-dl website is blocked. You must know that the YouTube-dl website only hosts the software and does not provide downloads of pirated resources.
Other search engines such as Google and Microsoft Bing also more or less block pirated resource download sites. For search engine providers, if they do not deal with such pirated websites, they may often receive various complaints. The operation of DuckDuckGo is estimated to be less tossing about copyright complaints.
