According to
VideoCardz, in the latest document of Unreal Engine 5, a new description of the “Ultra Quality” mode has been added to the DLSS section, which may mean that a better picture quality than the quality mode will be added to the
DLSS in the future.
Judging from the pictures found by netizens, the name “Ultra Quality” is currently only used to account for the pit, and the final naming still needs to be updated later. At the same time, this mode is now for end-users, which means that players cannot see it, which means that “Ultra Quality” is currently in the development and testing phase.
Now there are 4 modes in DLSS, namely quality, balance, performance, and ultra performance. Among them, quality is the best picture quality, and super performance is built for 8K games. In terms of resolution, take 4K (2160P) resolution as an example, after DLSS is turned on, the rendering resolutions are 1440P in quality mode, 1253P in balanced mode, 1080P in performance mode, and 720P in super performance mode.
If the “Ultra Quality” mode is true, then the rendering resolution in this mode should be much higher than the quality mode. If you refer to the AMD technique, their FSR rendering resolution in super quality mode is 1662P, and DLSS’s “Ultra Quality” mode may also be near this resolution.
In our actual test, the picture quality of DLSS in the quality mode is actually very clear. Even in some games, the processing of the perspective is better than the original one. Of course, DLSS will still have some ghosting problems, but in general, it is already very good, so we are still a little looking forward to this “Ultra Quality” mode.
