A press release issued by Dell & EMC’s enterprise-level technology platform is called to protect the security of employees working from home, and the company launched a protection tool against BIOS attacks. This tool is Dell SafeBIOS Events & Indicators of Attack (IoA).

Dell said that due to the impact of the new coronavirus, many people are now forced to work from home, and cybercriminals are changing the way they work to destroy terminals and steal data.

To enhance terminal security, Dell launched SafeBIOS Events & IoA protection tool, which can quickly detect BIOS configuration changes and identify potential security issues.

Usually, enterprise network administrators will deploy security solutions and configure security policies on the intranet, which can be directly applied to all employees’ computers to prevent security problems.

After many employees work from home, corporate network administrators can no longer strengthen security in this way. On the contrary, security at home is actually weakened.

Because many employees have weak security awareness and cannot identify potential cyberattack threats, key enterprise data may also be leaked through employee terminals.

Therefore, how to solve the security problems caused by people working from home during the epidemic is a topic that deserves attention, and Dell brings new solutions for network administrators.

Network attacks based on the BIOS level are very harmful. For example, some of these antivirus software cannot be checked and killed by these network attacks and will be restored after each restart of the system.

Dell’s new SafeBIOS Events & IoA tool is to deal with BIOS attacks. This tool can quickly detect and identify changes in employee BIOS configurations.

When an anomaly is detected, it will quickly report related events to the enterprise network administrator, so that the administrator can cut off the threatened terminal and continue to connect to the enterprise network architecture.

After a security threat occurs, the administrator can also contact employees for disposal to ensure that attackers cannot steal key corporate information through employees working from home.

The tool supports Dell commercial PCs and VMware virtualized terminals used worldwide. Enterprise IT administrators can click here to find related solutions.
