Microsoft provides 4K live streaming feature in Chromium Microsoft Edge
Although Microsoft has not officially launched Microsoft Edge base Chromium, there are still a lot of unique features that have been discovered from the leaked version. For example, the Softpedia found that the experimental function also provided 4K streaming live support during the test. This feature is currently not supported by Google Chrome.
Of course, the 4K-level streaming media broadcast has not yet emerged, because the ultra-high-definition streaming live broadcast of this kind requires very high bandwidth for users. However, since there are browsers to support the follow-up, there are also live broadcast sites that gradually provide 4K live broadcasts for users with higher network speeds to watch clearer live broadcasts.
However, Chromium Microsoft Edge with 4K streaming live streaming feature will only support Windows 10. This means that even if Microsoft releases a Chromium Microsoft Edge for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and Mac version, it will not be able to get 4K streaming live. The main reason for not supporting is that the operating system needs to support the HEVC decoder. This decoder is already available in the Windows 10 Store. Older versions of Windows cannot install the HEVC decoder through the app store, so they can’t be used. As for the Mac, we don’t know if it will be updated later.
