Chrome OS 83 releases: Name your Virtual Desks
After the stable version of Chrome 83 was released on May 20, today Google released Chrome OS 83. This version update mainly includes naming the virtual desktop, choosing to display the password when logging in, using the Google Assistant for multimedia sessions, adding tag group functions, etc.

Name your Virtual DesksYou can now name your desks to better organize your Chromebook. From Overview, click on the desk name and enter a new one. For more information on how you can use Virtual Desks on your Chromebook, visit the help center article.View Password/Pin during LoginWhen you are logging into your Chromebook, you can now reveal the text you entered for your password or pin by clicking on the ‘Show Password’ icon. This feature allows you to double check your password or PIN before entering into your Chromebook.Media Sessions with AssistantYou can now control your media sessions already playing with Assistant. You can tell Assistant to perform actions like “Pause” | “Next” | “Resume” | “Stop”. To learn more about how you can use the Google Assistant on your Chromebook, please visit our new ‘Discover Google Assistant’ section within the Help Center.Use Google for Families on ChromebooksFamilies will now be able to use the following new features for Google for Families on Chromebooks. Tab Groups on Chrome BrowserTab groups in Chrome help you organize your tabs and are now available on Chrome OS. Now, with a simple right click, you can group your tabs together and label them with a custom name and color. Once the tabs are grouped together, you can move and reorder them on the tab strip.
