Chrome 81 will completely remove support for unsafe versions of TLS
As early as October last year, Google announced plans to abandon support for legacy versions of TLS in Chrome 81. Today, the company emphasizes how it will gradually take action in its own browser a few months before it is completely abandoned. First, starting with Chrome 79, users and developers should be prepared to terminate TLS 1.0/1.1 support.
On pages that use the old protocol, Chrome 79 will display a warning message in the address bar. Chrome 79 will be released to the Stable Channel on January 13, 2020, enough to give developers time to transition to the new version of the agreement. As announced, Chrome 81, scheduled to be released sometime in March next year, will completely remove support for the legacy TLS protocol, which will block websites that use the legacy TLS protocol.
In addition to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox also removed support for the legacy TLS protocol in the recent Nightly Build. At the same time, Microsoft also promised in October last year that it will give up support for the TLS 1.0/1.1 protocol in early 2020.
