CFD Gaming PG5NFZ PCIe 5.0 SSD: Read and write speeds up to 10GB/s, fan noise is loud

Last October, CFD Gaming launched the PG5NFZ series of PCIe 5.0 SSDs. It is equipped with Phison Electronics’ PS5026-E26 controller and Micron’s 3D TLC NAND B58R flash memory, supports the NVMe 2.0 specification, and has a maximum sequential read speed of 10 GB/s. The maximum sequential write speed is 9.5 GB/s, the maximum random read is 1500K IOPS, and the maximum random write is 1250K IOPS.

Recently, this PCIe 5.0 SSD has been launched in Japan. Some netizens bought the 2TB version and used CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4 to do a simple test. The results showed that the sequential read and write speeds of this PCIe 5.0 SSD exceeded 10 GB/s, meeting the standard promised by the manufacturer.

In order to meet the heat dissipation requirements of PCIe 5.0 SSD, it is equipped with a “Phnix” active heat dissipation module with a height of 20mm and a fan on the top. During the actual operation, the noise of the fan is very loud.
PG5NFZ series PCIe 5.0 SSDs provide three different capacities, namely 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB, all equipped with DDR4 cache, with capacities of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB respectively. If the user purchases the 1TB version, the sequential write speed will be slightly worse.
