CDPR will fix the PC performance problem of The Witcher 3 as soon as possible
On December 14, CDPR launched the next-generation update of “The Witcher 3”, which includes 4K support, ray tracing, FSR 2, DLSS 3, and many other features. Not only makes this critically acclaimed RPG game better in terms of graphics and gameplay, but also makes it a pretty good hardware test project.
However, according to reports from many PC players recently, the next-generation updated version of “The Witcher 3” has a series of performance problems including crashes, freezes, and frame drops. Even high-end PCs are not immune. Therefore, from the date when the update was launched, the Steam page of “The Witcher 3” has also received a lot of negative reviews.
Some players with RTX 30-series or even 40-series high-end graphics cards even expressed dissatisfaction with the extremely low frame rate after turning on light tracing.
Fortunately, CDPR also quickly noticed this problem. Shortly after the update rolled out, they announced on Twitter that they were collecting bug reports from players, investigating the issue, and promised to provide an update patch as soon as possible. And just on December 15th, CDPR issued a notice in the official forum, announcing that they are focusing on solving several problems. These include issues such as game crashes on PC platforms, ray tracing performance on Intel graphics cards, and platform distribution of game updates. In addition, CDPR also recommends that players with low and mid-range configurations try to use DX11 to start the game to avoid lower performance.
