CDPR announced its fiscal year 2022 financial report
Recently, CD Projekt Red announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2022, revealing annual revenues of approximately $222 million, a modest increase from the $207 million achieved in the fiscal year 2021. Additionally, net profits amounted to roughly $80 million, representing a substantial 66% growth year-over-year.
The fiscal year 2022 marked the second most profitable year for CD Projekt Red, primarily attributable to a surge in sales for “Cyberpunk 2077,” which witnessed an 18% year-over-year increase. The development team dedicated considerable effort to updating the game and crafting its next-generation version. Concurrently, this novel intellectual property transcended the realm of video games, as the Netflix adaptation “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” garnered widespread acclaim, igniting a fervor that attracted a multitude of new players to purchase the game and prompted numerous veterans to revisit the Night City.
Moreover, the next-generation update of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” achieved commendable sales figures, contributing significantly to CD Projekt Red’s profit growth during the previous fiscal year.
Adam Kiciński, President and Joint CEO of CD Projekt Red, asserted that the popularity of “Cyberpunk 2077” was largely correlated with the game’s updates and the immense success of the derivative animation. Players’ sentiments towards the game have undergone a discernible transformation, directly reflected in sales figures. Consequently, CD Projekt Red has come to recognize the importance of deeply engaging in intellectual property management and broadening its influence.
CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the latest Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom Liberty, will enter its promotional phase in June of this year, with game development reaching its final stages, promising the release of further information. This DLC, targeting the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms, is anticipated to launch in late 2023.
