Broadcom is said to be in talks to acquire VMware

Reuters mentioned in the latest report that US chipmaker Broadcom intends to acquire cloud service provider VMware, and the two parties are currently negotiating, but the deal is not expected to be concluded soon.

CVE-2021-21984

VMware is currently the industry’s leading developer of cloud computing and virtualization software. Previously, VMware belonged to EMC. Later, Dell acquired EMC, so VMware became a Dell subsidiary, but in November last year, VMware was spun off from Dell and became an independent company.

The acquisition of VMware is definitely a good business for Broadcom. In recent years, Broadcom has become increasingly dissatisfied with its advantages in the chip field and is making efforts to provide enterprise services from various aspects, such as the previous acquisition of Symantec’s security department.

So whether the deal will be reached in the end is still unknown, and neither Broadcom nor VMware has responded to the news.
