Brave Search beta version is online, focusing on privacy and security
The beta version of Brave search engine, the main privacy and security browser, is officially launched. Compared with traditional search engines such as Google, Brave Search focuses on privacy and security like its browser and uses independent indicators to ensure that search algorithms are not biased.
Brave Search is promoted by the community to improve search results. Users can use Brave Search through the Brave browser or directly visit search.brave.com. The current test version does not have any ads, and the future version will provide the option of ad rendering.
As early as March, Brave announced this search engine plan. Prior to this, Brave acquired the search engine Tailcat developed by Cliqz. Brave Search was officially built on this product. With Brave browser, Brave aspires to become a “privacy protection alternative” to Google Chrome browser and Google search.
As Google gradually abandoned its “Don’t be evil” purpose, people’s impression of the search engine giant has also changed. Some people even set up a website to list alternatives to Google’s services. In addition, some search engines that emphasize privacy protection have also begun to appear. DuckDuckGo is one of the well-known services. DuckDuckGo had 65 million active users in August last year, and the total search volume exceeded 2 billion. From January to August last year, DuckDuckGo’s search volume increased by 400 million.
