BlizzCon 2023 will be held on November 3-4
The BlizzCon convention, Blizzard’s annual large-scale event, serves not only as a platform for announcements but also as a convocation for fans. It even hosts esports competitions for its games, thereby drawing a considerable crowd with every iteration. However, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and out of public health safety considerations, BlizzCon has not been conducted in-person since 2019, with only one online event held.
Blizzard has declared that this year’s BlizzCon 2023 will transpire from November 3rd to 4th, to be hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Further details about ticketing, cosplay, competitive events, and other facets will be announced next month, as Blizzard has yet to reveal additional information.
Blizzard avers, “Our players are at the heart of what makes BlizzCon great–a place where games are the common ground for connection and friendship. Whether you’re coming to hang out with friends you only ever get to see online, celebrating epic moments in the games we love, exploring what’s on offer in the convention center halls, or eager to learn what’s next for our universes, BlizzCon is being created for you. It’s the community that has always made this event so special, and we can’t wait to see you all again.”
In light of the forthcoming release of Diablo IV and the promotion of Overwatch 2, both are expected to be the central works featured in this year’s BlizzCon activities. It has been reported that Blizzard is developing an AAA-level fantasy survival game for PC and consoles, codenamed “Project Odyssey.” It remains to be seen whether any further news about this project will be disclosed at the event.
