AYANEO announced the launch of the new AYANEO Pocket S powered by Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor

After Qualcomm unveiled its expanded venture into the handheld gaming sector, introducing three novel Snapdragon G-series processors and corresponding reference designs, AYANEO promptly announced its forthcoming handheld device, the AYANEO Pocket S, powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor, anticipated to launch within the year.

Indeed, AYANEO had previously launched the Android gaming handheld, AYANEO Pocket AIR, equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor the year prior. Coupled with their established range of handhelds running on AMD processors under the Windows operating system, AYANEO holds a seasoned presence in the handheld gaming milieu.

With the newly announced AYANEO Pocket S featuring the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor, AYANEO aims for elevated hardware specifications and boasts a more capacious battery, ensuring extended operational longevity. However, it remains uncertain if the device will adopt additional extended functionalities, such as compatibility with virtual reality headsets, as alluded to by Qualcomm.

Yet, the specific specifications of the AYANEO Pocket S remain undisclosed, as does its exact market release date.

Beyond AYANEO, Sony recently announced its handheld gaming device named the PlayStation Portal, designed to complement streaming on the PlayStation 5. Whether it too utilizes the Snapdragon G-series processors is yet to be ascertained.
