At present, there are more and more monitors equipped with a high refresh rate in the market. The high refresh rate of 120Hz and 144Hz was originally configured for gamers. But as people’s requirements for display technology are getting higher and higher, even ordinary users hope that their devices have a high refresh rate display like 120Hz to enhance their daily experience. For the ultimate game player, the refresh rate of 144Hz has long been unable to meet the demand, and finally, a game monitor with a refresh rate of 360Hz appears.
According to two reports from TFTCentral on
AUO and
LG Display, both manufacturers are developing a new generation of display panels with a refresh rate of 480Hz. Among them,
LG Display has a number of different sizes and resolutions, such as a 1080P 24.5-inch panel. If all goes well, it is expected to be ready for mass production at some point in the fourth quarter of 2022 at the earliest, and consumers will be able to see these products on sale in the first half of 2023. AU Optronics also has similar products, but there are no further details, and mass production will start in 2022.
These 480Hz refresh rate monitors will be aimed at professional gamers, especially e-sports players in the field of e-sports. At the same time, display manufacturers can show their technical strength and better promote their brands.
