ASUSTOR released the new AS54 series NAS

ASUSTOR announces the launch of the AS54 series NAS, encompassing two models, namely the AS5402T and AS5404T, corresponding to dual and quad-bay offerings respectively.

The AS54 series NAS is equipped with the Intel N5105 processor, possessing a quad-core, quad-thread architecture, fabricated using a 10nm process. The processor can reach a turbo frequency of up to 2.9 GHz, heralding a performance enhancement of 31% compared to its predecessors. The default configuration includes 4GB of DDR4-2933 memory, offering a 20% performance boost over the preceding DDR4-2400. Users have the option to expand the memory up to a maximum of 16GB (2x 8GB). It features either two or four 3.5-inch drive bays that support hot-swapping, with the capability to support RAID 0/1/5/6/10, single drive, and JBOD configurations, contingent on the number of drives installed. Moreover, it offers four M.2 slots that support PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD, usable for system storage, caching, or both, significantly augmenting data access speeds. This dual-pronged advantage in terms of speed and capacity is a hallmark of the AS54 series.

The AS54 series NAS is furnished with dual 2.5GbE network cards, supporting link aggregation and SMB Multichannel, thus achieving a combined transfer speed of 5Gbps. It also maintains backward compatibility with gigabit and 100-megabit Ethernet. When utilizing SMB Multichannel, the read speed can reach up to 576 MB/s, and the write speed, up to 566 MB/s. ASUSTOR has also endowed the new NAS with three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, delivering a data transfer speed of 10Gbps. As the integrated graphics supports 10-bit 4K H.265 decoding, users can achieve high-quality video output via the HDMI 2.0b port, making the AS54 series NAS an ideal choice for home entertainment and routine work.

ASUSTOR indicates that the pricing for the AS5402T and AS5404T stands at $369 and $529 respectively.
