ASUS will host the “Pinnacle of Performance” event on May 9

ASUS announced that it will hold an event called “Pinnacle of Performance” on May 9, 2022, at 12:00 EST, which will be held virtually online and will release new products. Although the details are unclear for the time being, there are indications that the new products involved in this event are related to Intel Alder Lake-HX, and Asus will launch laptops equipped with Alder Lake-HX.

Alder Lake-HX is the mobile processor formerly known as Alder Lake-H55, which will be Intel’s most powerful product on a mobile platform. Alder Lake-HX uses the existing Alder Lake-S core on the desktop platform, but it will be changed to a BGA package. It has up to 8 performance cores based on the Golden Cove architecture (Performance Core) and 8 energy efficiency cores (Efficient Core) based on the Gracemont architecture, with integrated graphics of 32 EUs. It is said that the top-of-the-line Core i9-12950HX will be configured with 16 cores and 24 threads, 30MB of L3 cache, and a boost clock of 4.9 GHz.

In addition to Asus, Dell’s Precision 7770 and 7670 are currently known to feature Alder Lake-HX. It is rumored that the three products of Core i9-12950HX, Core i7-12850HX, and Core i7-12650HX will support vPro (vPro) technology, which can provide easier remote management and a safer use environment, suitable for more demanding professional work.

Intel has not confirmed the release time of Alder Lake-HX, but it is rumored to be around May 10, which is highly consistent with the timing of Asus’s event.
