Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 leaked: equipped with Ryzen 9 6900HX and RTX 3080 Ti
Some time ago, an ASUS gaming laptop with the model number “G533Z” passed FCC certification and belongs to the ROG STRIX SCAR 15 series. The data shows that the device is equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, has 8 cores and 16 threads, and is also equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, and 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory, 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, 15.6-inch QHD screen with 165 Hz refresh rate, pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro operating system.
According to reports from MyLaptopGuide, another ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 series laptop with the model number “GX650” from Asus has also appeared in the certification library. The configuration is similar to the previously leaked ROG STRIX SCAR 15 series products. GX650 is the successor of GX551, there will be three different configurations, namely RX, RW, and RM, corresponding to different GPU configurations. According to ASUS naming rules, the second letter represents the GPU model used, and M indicates that the GPU is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 mobile platform, X and W are not completely compatible with the current mobile GPU equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series. It proves from the side that there will be at least two new GPU configurations, among which X should be the rumored GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile platform. Due to the lack of further information confirmation, it is still speculation for the time being.
It is understood that AMD’s next-generation mobile platform processors will be named Ryzen 6000 series, and Rembrandt-H is based on Zen 3+ architecture. It is also configured for the first time with a GPU of the RDNA 2 architecture. It will also support PCIe Gen4 and DDR5 memory. It is manufactured using a 6nm process and replaced with an FP7 socket. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile graphics card is likely to use a new GPU called GA103, with 7424 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6 video memory. The TDP may be between 150W and 200W.
Both AMD and Nvidia are expected to announce a new generation of mobile platform products at CES 2022, and these laptops will be one of the first AMD laptops that support DDR5 memory, PCIe 4.0, and the new Ampere architecture graphics card.
