ASUS ROG XG Mobile graphics dock is listed in Japan: retail price of $3000
At the CES 2023 earlier this year, ASUS announced the release of a new generation ROG XG Mobile graphics card dock, which features the RTX 4090 mobile version. Compared to the existing RTX 3080 version, this offers significant improvements and can provide stronger graphics performance for some of the ROG Zephyrus series thin and light gaming laptops.
According to Wccftech, this ROG XG Mobile graphics card dock is now available in Japan, with a retail price of 399,800 Japanese yen, or about $3000, which is significantly higher than the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card used in a typical desktop platform.
The new XG Mobile graphics card dock has a form factor that is only 7% of a typical graphics card dock and weighs only 1.3 kg. It is compatible with the ROG Zephyrus S GX701, Zephyrus G14, and Zephyrus G15 flip versions, and is connected through a proprietary PCIe connector to provide more powerful performance for graphics-intensive tasks such as gaming, multimedia editing, and rendering. It has two modules built in, one is a 330W adapter, and the other is the GPU and I/O interface. The cooling module features a blower-style fan, which pushes air out of the chassis through an exhaust port.
There is no doubt that the new XG Mobile graphics card dock is very powerful, with the RTX 4090 mobile version featuring an AD103 GPU with 76 sets of SM, or 9728 CUDA cores. It has a base clock of 1590MHz, and a boost clock of 2040MHz, and is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory with a memory bandwidth of 256 bits. In addition, the TDP is 150W, which can dynamically increase to 175W.
In addition, the latest XG Mobile graphics card dock is equipped with many interfaces for user expansion, including HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type-A + Type-C), an SD card reader, and a 2.5G Ethernet LAN port.
