ASUS Releases ExpertCenter PN42 Mini PC
ASUS announced the launch of the ExpertCenter PN42 mini PC. It adopts a fanless design, which is very quiet during operation, and the design of the chassis can effectively prevent dust accumulation. At the same time, it has an easy-to-disassemble and upgradable maintenance design, and SSD replacement can be completed without tools.
Intel N100/N200 are all-around energy-efficient core processors using Alder Lake-N chips, all of which are 4 cores and 4 threads, with a TDP of 6W, using Intel 7 process manufacturing. The difference between the two is that the turbo frequency of N100 is 3.4 GHz, and the core display is 24 EU. The turbo frequency of N200 is 3.7 GHz, and the core display is 32 EU. Celeron N4500 is a 2-core 2-thread processor with Jasper Lake architecture, TDP is 6W, manufactured using a 10nm process, and turbo frequency is 2.8 GHz.
The overall size of the ExpertCenter PN42 mini PC is about 127.5mm x 132mm x 57.6mm, which is very small at about 0.97L and weighs about 0.82kg. According to different processors, ExpertCenter PN42 is divided into a single SO-DIMM slot and a dual SO-DIMM slot. The former is used for Intel N100/N200 models (maximum DDR4-3200 memory of 16GB), and the latter is used for Celeron N4500 models (maximum DDR4-2933 memory of 16GB x2); equipped with an M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, supporting NVMe SSD from 128GB to 2TB; Intel N100/N200 models support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.0, Celeron N4500 models support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
On the front I/O of ExpertCenter PN42 mini PC, there are two USB 3.2 Gen2 interfaces, as well as headphone and microphone interfaces; on the rear I/O, there are three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A interfaces, three USB 2.0 interfaces, one DisplayPort 1.4 interface, one HDMI interface, and a 2.5 Gbps network port, etc… In addition, this mini PC can install an additional 2.5 Gbps network port and also provides a configurable interface to increase device flexibility, which can support up to three display outputs or two 4K displays at most.
