ASUS launches ZenScreen OLED MQ16AHE portable screen

In June 2022, ASUS launched the ZenScreen OLED MQ16AH portable monitor. Recently, the product has seen an updated version, the MQ16AHE, which primarily features a more user-friendly stand design. The new model is already available on ASUS’s international website, but the release date and pricing for the domestic market remain unknown.

The ZenScreen OLED MQ16AHE’s overall dimensions are similar to those of the MQ16AH, measuring 358.7 mm x 226.0 mm x 9.0 mm (WxHxD), with the thinnest point still at 5 mm. Its weight has slightly increased to 720 g. Both models feature a 15.6-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a refresh rate of 60Hz, a contrast ratio of 100000:1, a peak brightness of 400 cd/m², a response time of 1 ms (GTG), a 10-bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support with gravity-sensing rotation. The primary difference between the two is that the MQ16AHE’s manual maximum brightness matches its peak brightness, increased from 360 cd/m² in the MQ16AH to 400 cd/m². However, the MQ16AHE does not mention Delta E color accuracy or HDR10 certification.

The most noteworthy feature of the ZenScreen OLED MQ16AHE is its new stand design. Unlike the previous folding leather case and rear support plate, ASUS has adopted a more flexible bar support, which supports 360° rotation. This design allows the portable screen to stand stably in both horizontal and vertical orientations, catering to users who require vertical display mode. Additionally, the support bar includes a hole for wall mounting, adding to its practicality.

In terms of connectivity, the ZenScreen OLED MQ16AHE retains the same ports as the MQ16AH, including a mini HDMI and two USB-C ports. One of the USB-C ports is a full-function port, while the other is solely for power input. If using the mini HDMI input, an additional power source is required. However, with a USB-C cable that complies with the PD 20W standard (supporting DP passthrough), both power and video input can be achieved with a single cable.
