ASUS launches Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard

In October this year, AMD released the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors, codenamed “Storm Peak,” featuring up to 96 cores based on the Zen 4 architecture. Shortly thereafter, ASUS swiftly launched the Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI motherboard. Recently, ASUS’s official website listed a new motherboard model, the “Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE,” positioned as a higher-end offering compared to the Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI.

The Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard supports both the Ryzen Threadripper 7000X series and Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000WX series processors. It features a robust 32+3+3+3 phase power design, employs ProCool II high-strength power connectors, and is equipped with an extensive VRM cooling module. The board includes eight DDR5 memory slots, compatible with ECC R-DIMM memory. It offers seven full-length PCIe 5.0 slots, six of which are x16 and one is x8. There are four M.2 slots, all supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 interface, with two accommodating SSDs of 2242/2260/2280/22110 sizes and the other two supporting 2242/2260/2280 sizes. Additionally, it features two SlimSAS interfaces (PCIe 4.0 x4 mode) and four SATA interfaces. The motherboard also boasts multiple cooling fans situated around the power module and M.2 slots to enhance cooling efficiency.

The Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard is equipped with an Intel X710-AT2 dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet card, along with a Realtek Gigabit Ethernet card. It supports IPMI remote management, complemented by ASUS Control Center Express (ACCE) for enhanced efficiency and security. The front panel of the motherboard offers a USB 20Gbps Type-C port, while the rear panel provides a 40Gbps USB4 port. The audio solution is powered by the Realtek ALC1220P.

ASUS has not disclosed the pricing or the specific release date for the Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard.
