ASUS announces Chromebook CM30 with a versatile 2-in-1 design
Recently, ASUS announced the launch of its novel 2-in-1 Chromebook CM30 (model number CM3001) via its official news portal. This device, a 10.5-inch Chromebook powered by an ARM processor, boasts an impressive battery life of up to 12 hours.
The versatile 2-in-1 Chromebook features a magnetically attached case that doubles as a stand, and its keyboard is available as an optional accessory. Additionally, it comes with a built-in stylus. Beyond offering Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the Chromebook CM30 also has an optional LTE connection. ASUS has noted that the device meets MIL-STD 810H standards, ensuring remarkable durability for everyday life and work.
At the heart of the ASUS Chromebook CM30 lies the MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor, with a configuration of 2x A76@2GHz + 6x A55@2GHz, supported by 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB eMMC storage – a specification that is more than adequate for a Chromebook.
Like most tablets, the ASUS Chromebook CM30 is equipped with front and rear cameras; however, the specifications are modest, with both cameras featuring a 5-megapixel resolution.
ASUS also highlighted the environmental consciousness of this device: it is constructed using 30% post-consumer recycled aluminum and assembled using renewable energy. Its energy-efficient design aligns with Energy Star standards. Even the packaging is eco-friendly, complying with FSC certification.
However, ASUS has merely outlined the features of the Chromebook CM30, with details on the specific release regions, dates, and prices for various configurations still under wraps. It’s worth mentioning that this device is the successor to the 2021 Chromebook CM3 (model number CM3000).
