Arm announced the launch of a new generation of Mali series GPUs
This year, Arm launched the Armv9 architecture, laying the foundation for the next decade of development, and also attracted the attention of all parties. But compared to the CPU, Arm’s GPU is much more low-key. Although many products have used the GPU of the Mail series, the amount of topics raised is much less.
Today Arm announced the launch of a series of new GPUs, including Mali-G710/G610/G510/G310, covering flagship to entry-level products. Many products with a new generation of Arm architecture will use these GPUs, and it is estimated that they will meet with users soon.
Mali-G710 is a flagship product. Compared with the previous generation, it will have a 20% improvement in performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption. At the same time, the speed of machine learning will increase by 35%, provides the best performance and experience in both computationally intensive tasks and games. Arm said that this GPU will not only be used on flagship smartphones, but also on Chromebooks. Mali-G610 is a simplified version of Mali-G710, inheriting all the functions and features of Mali-G710, but the overall performance will be weakened, suitable for carrying on non-flagship smartphones.
It is worth noting that Mali-G510, Arm said that compared with the previous generation product, there will be a 100% improvement in performance, a 22% reduction in power consumption, and a 100% increase in machine learning speed. In Arm’s view, Mali-G510 represents the perfect balance of performance and efficiency. Mali-G510 is positioned in mid-range smartphones, Chromebooks, high-end DTVs, and set-top boxes. Mali-G310 is an entry-level product. In addition to being positioned as an entry-level smartphone, it will also be used in entry-level and mid-range DTVs and set-top boxes. In addition, AR, VR, and smart wearable devices will also be used.
